I'll pass through Madrid on my way to the south and I would like to visit some shops from Spanish emergent designers. I'm interested on clothes, home products and stationaries. It is even better if you know some mix shops which you find sometimes a shop together with a cafe and/or galeria. Does anybody have any suggestion? I'll be in Madrid from 2pm to 9pm and I'm wondering if the shops at Chueca are opening this time? Last question: any suggestion for having lunch in the area?

Near Chueca area you may find interesting Fuencarral street and Mercado de Fuencarral

also TRiball, who is doing a great job by improving the run down streets around Ballesta street.

You need to go down Almirante street and ask at one of the boutiques.Javier BArdem's familly has a cute restarant in chueca Bardemcilla,47 Augusto Figueroa and then at 12 Almirante I like Cafe Oliver for lunch. I suggest you walk around a little in the area and then do lunch-available til about 4. If the shops do indeed close, they should be open again at around 5.
