| Sogn og Fjordane | I hate cruise ships. Smaller craft going deep into Songenfjord ? Posted: Fri July 18, 2008 04:20 AM UTC
OR Are there sleep-aboard sailboats or smaller boats that we can stay on as we travel up the coastline into various fjords? We are backpacker types and sailors so we hope to find an "UNluxury" trip.
We will be going in May 2009. Thanks!!!! |

Hi Kate
There used to be a ferry service which went all along the coast up past the arctic circle called Hurtigruten. I think they have been bought out and now are a bit more up-market. Check it out: http://www.norway.com/directories/d_company.asp?id=2972 That's the only one I know of and when I did a section a few years ago it was quite expensive, although the price dropped substantially during the off-season. I don't think they go into the Songnefjord though. Hope this helps, John
