| Sharm El Sheikh | All Inclusive or Half Board/B&B Posted: Fri July 18, 2008 12:59 AM UTC
Friends want us to go with them next Jan/Feb but have no idea where to stay.
I'm told to head for Naama as close to amenities but need more advice on whether to go all in or half board and which hotel. We are all 50ish like a drink or 10 enjoy entertainment but not clubs for youngsters. I gather you get better value going AI but feel we may be tied to hotel. How much are drinks on average and meals eating out. What would you do? Any advice would be really appreciated |

Eating out in Egypt is really cheap to our standards. Might be a bit more expensive in Sharm, since Sharm is very touristy and more looking towards European standards.
It all depends on what you are expecting to do. If you just want to lay down, take a sunbath, have a dive into the sea and/or do a bit of snorkeling... Than just go for the AI. Entertainment will be in the resort or hotel. If you are more adventurous and in for some local exploration than do the B&B or half board.

I agree- trying local places is half the fun if you're up for it. There is a large variety of places and menus to choose from. Drinks will be more expensive in your hotel, so that may be a factor in your decision.
