| Zagreb | what is wotrh to see in zagreb Posted: Thu July 17, 2008 06:26 PM UTC
I plan to be one day by car in Zagreb.
What I should to see there or in the way from Rijeka. Also I want to see something in Rijeka as well as in Ljubljana (Slovenia) (also one day in each of the city). |

Since you'll have a car you can visit some of the following:
Monument to the 16th Meridian - on the corner of Avenija Vukovar and Drziceva Avenija. A memorial to the border of Illyrian provinces in times of Napoleon - on the southern shores of Sava river, next to Savski most. Former French pavillion of the Zagreb fair - an interesting structure now within the perimeter of the Student centre. An interesting monument to the prehistoric fish, found in Podsused. Tresnjevacki plac - a large, traditional open-air market in Tresnjevka. Mamutica in Novi Zagreb - the largest residential building in Croatia. Tram line #15 - a unique line running on the slopes of the Medvednica mountain. Tram stop in Gupceva Zvijezda - recently reconstructed architectural jewel of the 1930s. Bulb factory in Sigecica - with their interesting testing tower. These are just a few suggestions that you won't find in most of the guidebooks. If you prefer to visit more popular tourist sites it is easy to find what are Zagreb's "must see" locations by simple Googling or by visiting traveler's pages here on VT. Have a great time in Zagreb!

I just returned from Zagreb this afternoon. The city area can be completed in half a day. If you are an art lover, try the museum of naive art (take the funnicular up) - costs 20Kn but i think it is worth it. If you have a car, I definitely suggest driving down to the Plitvice Lakes. beautiful place!!!
