Munich Hotels in Munich during winter

Hello,

I have found some hotels within Munich and hopefully you can give me some advice in terms of location, or within walking distance to the underground subway.

Which one would you recommend strongly.

A) Novotel München City
Hochstraße 11, 81669 Munich, Germany

B) Hotel Wallis
Schwanthalerstrasse 8, 80336 Munich, Germany

C) Hotel Reinbold
Adolf-Kolping-Str. 11, 80336 Munich, Germany

D) Novotel München Messe
Willy-Brandt-Platz 1, 81829 Munich, Germany

E) Mercure München City Center
Senefelderstraße 9, 80336 Munich, Germany

F) Hilton Munich City
Rosenheimer Strasse 15, 81667 Munich, Germany

Thanks
Glen

I stayed at the Novotel München Messe last year and can thoroughly recommend it. If no conferences are being held at the Messe, you can get a very good price too. There is more information and photos on my Munich page.

All listed hotels are close to U- and S-Bahn stations.

A is east of the very city centre in a nice suburb, close to Deutsches Museum. The centre is at walking distance.

B is in the very centre, at walking distance to many stations, including Hauptbahnhof (main railway station; very handy if you want to travel somewhere by train)

C is just some steps from B

D is near Messe. There is public transportation but I would only stay there for the Messe (fair) or the Oktoberfest.

E is close to B and C, very close to the railway station

F is near A, but a little bit further away from the centre, close to two S-Bahn stations including Ostbahnhof where heaps of trains stop. Would not be my first choice of location.

Ha - I see you still do not know if you want to go to Munich or Vienna. Both are beautiful cities... Cannot give you advice on that. I would almost certainly go to Vienna - but only because I lived in Munich for three years and know it well, and have been to Vienna only for short visits, so would like to review it...

I stayed at Hotel Senefelder on Senefelderstrasse which is the street that option E is in. It was very close to the Hauptbahnhof and very handy to underground, shoppingetc. I would certainly stay there again. As for Munich or Vienna? You may be best to toss a coin as they are both really wonderful cities. I would say that Vienna wins by a nose.

Munich and Vienna are both wonderful cities. It really depends how long you've got because you really need several days in each to fully enjoy them.

I stayed in Mercure Hotel in Senefelder Straße once. It was very good. Not even 5 minutes away from the main station and great breakfasts, too! The area around the station on that side is a bit dodgy but nothing to worry about really.

Hope this helps! Enjoy Munich!
