| Weeze | Where to stay? Posted: Thu July 17, 2008 01:03 PM UTC
I will be flying into Weeze on 28 January-2 February 09 and I am aware that the town of Weeze is quite small so we do not wish to stay there. However, we would like to stay in a larger town that is convienient for visiting attractions in the local area. We do not care if this is in nearby Holland or further into Germany. It would be more suitable if the travel time is no longer than 50/60 minutes by train!
Thanks in advance. |

I suggest taking a look at the website of Weeze Airport with a lot of information about the area and public transportation to towns in Germany as well to the Netherlands.

I am thinking of staying in nearby Nijmegen but would consider visiting the city of Berlin in Germany. Is this feasable? What would be the travel time by train?

It takes about 5 hours by train and will cost about € 95,- (one way).

i'd stay in düsseldorf...the ride by train from weeze is 13,80 euro and about one hour and seven minutes. it's the capital of the federal country of North Rine Westphalia (where also weeze is located), quite large, on the river Rhine (with a promenade, including cafes and bars), with a nice old town and a lot of places to visit and go out. there's even a japanese district if you'd like to have good japanese meal (düsseldorf has the biggest japanese population in germany). you can do boat tours on the Rhine or have daytrips to cologne (which is less than an hour away by train). so there's a lot to do in this very populated area of western germany!!! if you need more infos....just ask! :)

what i forgot to say:
düsseldorf is very popular for it's dark beer (Altbier) and has a lot of breweries with own bars in the old town. so you can really have delicious beer experiences.

Until recently Dusseldorf was our prime location to stay but we were unsure about train connections from Weeze, cost and travel time. However, I have not finalised accommodation so we're still open to feasible suggestions.
