| Gifu-ken | Takayama & Shirakawago Posted: Thu July 17, 2008 05:18 AM UTC
Hihi, I will be spending 2 days in Takayama and was wondering if a side trip to Shirakawago is worth it (i could spare an extra day if i go here). Is Shirakawago similar to Takayama, esp the Hida Folk Village?
Advice please :) Thanks. |

Shirakawago is worth to visit. It is a live village, and once you enter the village, you will feel you are in a different world. Not similar to Hida Folk Village.

You should really see Shirakawago. IT is magical place especially when the sun goes down and the whole valley is covered by mist.
I just drove through the old part of Takayama but can assure you, it is totally different experience to go to Shirakawago.
