Going to Tunisia in September (2-19) and I want to share a car with someone who wants to go to Kef, Dougga, Sbeitla, Tozeur, Matmata, Tataouine (Ksar Ouldane) and Djerba. The rest of the days public transportation.

I just don't want to spend hours to reach those "remote" places.

(19 euros a car in camel car). That's cheap!

Are you doing a tour (ie overnight en-route) or going "back to base" daily?
I've been to Tunisia several times in my own car, this year me and the wife flew in and back-packed. There are trains between Tunis, Tozeur, Gabes, and you can travel on buses as well. Louages are cheap enough and quicker than you'll ever drive yourself. The trains travel overnight (no sleepers) and, for instance, in Midoun on Djerba, you can book an overnight passage to Tunis which use both bus and train. We drive because four of us travel together, we go to remote places (Bechni, Ksar Ghilane, etc) but most of the places you mention, in the south at least, are easily accessible using public transport, and of course, it takes the pressure off. I'm going over nigh en-route! My problem is that I'm going during the ramadan and I'm kind of afraid of problems with transportation.
Another thing is that I don't know if it's "smart" going from Bizerte to Dougga and then Le Kef with bus or louage. Another problem is the following day. I want to go from Le Kef to Sbeitla and the sleep in Tozeur. I wanna have time to see Metlauoi, Midès, Tamerza, Chebika and Nefta in somewhat two days. Then I'm going to Douz and I was thinking of sleeping in Ksar Ghilane. From here I wanna go to Matmata and Tataouine to visit KO Soltanem douirat, Chénini, etc... From tataouine I'm going to Djerba and here I wanna return the car.

There are some places I think I will not see if I go with public transportation.
