Early October is usually too early for snow. The first winter storm is typically around Thanksgiving though. And it usually stops by March although, this year, we had a bad front come through in late April, but that's rare.
You also have to keep in mind that you're still in the desert there, and the desert just does not get much precipitation, frozen or otherwise. When it does snow, it melts fairly quickly and the roads are cleared even more quickly.
In other words, don't worry about it too much. You'd have to have pretty bad luck to have MV snowed out when you try to go. Zion or Bryce, yes, but not the Four Corners region.

We were there in late October last year and it was beautiful. You're not going to get snowed out at Monument Valley, in fact it would make for great pictures. We spent Thanksgiving in Page two years ago and took the tour boat to Rainbow Bridge, it was in the 60s. F.

Bryce canyon is much higher and can get quite a bit of snow. Zion gets hardly any snow, in three years here we've only had about 12 inches of snow, total. The higher elevations get it but there are always hikes you can do in Zion.
