| New York City | don't want to park/drive into NYC. Posted: Wed July 16, 2008 05:27 PM UTC
Hi all I/m coming into town from Conn. and will be going to Yankees game.I would like to park my car somewhere outside of NYC and take trains or buses in.I don't want to deal with the traffic or the parking fees.I don't mind being even an hour or so out.Is there a train that goes into NYC from Jersey or somewhere?Any help or suggestions appreciated. It is a day game.Thanks....

| New York City | If you're coming in from Connecticut Posted: Wed July 16, 2008 05:43 PM UTC
Why not use the NY MTA's New Haven Line? It goes from several CT cities right into Grand Central Station, from which you can ride the subway to Yankee Stadium. Trains run at all hours of the day and night. This URL should give you some info:
http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm Just enter "Grand Central Station" for your ending (or, for your return, the starting) point, and the CT city you are closest to, for your starting / ending point.

if you are coming from CT, catch Metro-North in Stamford or one of the other towns nearby, but I imagine Stamford will have more parking available. Get off at 125th street and take the #4 subway uptown 3 stops to 161st St/Yankee Stadium. (and in case you are worried about safety, the subway is always crowded when there is a game). have fun!!
