I will be in Bali traveling alone this weekeend( 19 July 08) will be staying at Ayu Taman at Kerobokan for 3 night before checking in to Ubud Sari for 5 night retreat.

Any great place for a day dive for beginner withouth staying overnight at the dive resort. as i would prefer to go back to kerobokan after the dive.
i had done my opened water 2 yrs ago and, alas that was my last dive. done the 3 hrs refresher course a few days .

I also looking into white water raffling along sungai Ayung. anyone know any great operator there ?

Hi Summer, Bali offers some fantastic diving for all skill levels. Although all sites require a little bit of traveling, day trips are possible.

The link below contains detailed information about diving in Bali, as well as a list of popular dive sites marked on a handy map of Bali, so that you can see where they are relative to where you'll be.

http://www.divetheworldindonesia.com/bali-diving-sites.htm

As for cycling in Ubud, there's plenty of motorbikes around, but I can't say I remember many bicycles. Being aware of traffic around and behind you and the fact that sometimes a oneway is a oneway in principle only, will keep you safe.

The hill sloping down to the Monkey Forest is about the only physical challenge in the central area, although there are some hilly bits when you start going to the outskirts of Ubud.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Mola Mola are around Near to Nusa Penida, and 85 $ for a dive trip is really good value, hard to think you will get it cheaper than that, especially as it is high season at the moment.

Good luck and have a great time
