We are arriving at FCO on the evening of October 17, 2008 and will be spending three nights at a hotel in Civitavecchia prior to boarding the Regatta on October 20th. We are loking for the most reasonable and convenient way to reach Civitavecchia via train, taxi, bus or hired car.

It appears that it's pretty convenient to take the train.
Fiumicino Airport - Roma Trastevere Station About 30 minutes, 5.50€ Roma Trastevere - Civitavecchia About 1 hour, 4.10€ Trains run often on both lines, so you can get there in 2 hours or less. Check the Italian railways website for schedules and more information. http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html
