Hoi An Travel Forum

I am going to Vietnam in August for a relaxing week then a tourist week. I was wondering where a good place to stay in Hoi An would be for a relax.

Is the beach nice?
Or do the hotels in the city have nice pool areas?

We will be going to Hue and Hanoi after that, but thought Hoi An would be interesting but still near a beach so you could relax.

We would recommend the Ancient House which is a hotel between the city and the beach. Easy access to both.
Rooms are beautiful, just ask for the ones with the double entry doors.
Buffet breakfast is extensive and high quality. The staff are very helpful and polite, even come and turn down you bed and leave a small sweet parcel.
The city is a great place to enjoy the vietnamese way of life.
We highly recommend a trip to My Son which is a short way out of town, best accessed by a bus tour which you can organise from town (which is a LOT cheaper than what is offered from the hotels)

I'd stay at the beach. Victoria Hoi An and Golden Sands have both the beach and nice pool areas. Both also have free shuttles into town (10 minute ride).

We stayed at the Palm Garden Hotel, which was lovely had a nice pool area and right on the beach, frequent shuttles into Hoi An and would highly recommend.
