Travelling from Izmir to Athens next September

I need to travel, if it is possible by ship, (not a cruise) on September 27th from Izmir or near to Athens or Pireo.
Which would be the options, which would be the cost and how can I buy the ticket?

As said before, head to Cesme near Izmir, get to main bus station then there is a dolmus to cesme.
