Dear friends,
We'll arrive at Fiumicino Airport and need to go to Hotel Metro, Via Rebibbia 18 Rome , 00156. Can you please tell us how to get there from the airport? Thanks a lot and have a lovely day!! Dusan |

Hello,
There are several ways to get to the city from the airport. You can take the Leonardo Express train to the termini and then either walk or take a cab to your hotel. This is the least expensive way ( about 12 eruos for the train part of the trip) but you must handle your own luggage on and off the train. You must also handle your luggage once you get to the termini if you are walking to your hotel. The second option is to take a cab from the airport to your hotel. If it is in the city center there is a flat rate of 45 euros (I believe this is the current rate). The last option is to hire a driver from companies like romecabs.com or airportconnection.it. These will cost about 55 euros but they will meet you at the airport, help you with luggage and take you directly to your hotel. You can check out their rates at their websites. Donna

Take the Leonardo Express train from Fiumicino to Termini (well-signed from within the airport).
Buy your ticket at the booth at the end of the platform. 11 euro one-way. Trains are frequent, journey takes around 30 minutes. http://www.trenitalia.it/en/treni_stazioni/trasfer Remember to validate (date-stamp) your ticket using the yellow machine on the platform before you board the train. Your hotel has clear directions from Termini (and a map) here: http://www.hotelmetroroma.com/

The fastest (or as fast as Leonardo Express) way is to take regional train FR 1 to Roma Tiburtina station and then Metro B to Rebibbia. Tiburtina is smaller and more convenient station to catch the Metro than Termini. FR 1 is also more frequent and costs half the price of Leonardo Express. It takes 45 minutes to Tiburtina and as you don't need to go to Termini, it's better option. If you need to go back to the airport on a weekday morning, then taking the Leonardo Express might be worth the extra cost, because FR 1 gets very crowded on peak hours.
