Amsterdam Short Trip to adam today and tomorrow
Posted: Mon July 14, 2008 11:32 AM UTC
Hi all,
I am in Rotterdam for work the next three days and want to visit Amsterdam in the evening (today and tomorrow).
Can you give some short tips where to go (wanna see the canals and so on), should know where I can park the car, or just a address to drive in the city center.
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Clemens

If you really want to park downtown, I recommend the Europarking at the
Marnixstraat; see:

I normally go for the P&R at the Olympic Stadium, with free public transportation into town; see:

Where to go? How about an evening canal boat tour departing from the Damrak and having a drink at the Leidseplein thereafter.

BTW You could opt for going by train. There are nighttrains each hour from Amsterdam back to Rotterdam (if you want to have a beer or stronger).

BTW #2 We have a VT-meeting at Saturday the 19th; see:

How about joining us?

To get the most out of your evenings, I strongly advise you to travel by train.
www.ns.nl

It's only 60 minutes by train. If you go by car, it can could be double that time if you travel end of the afternoon/early evening.

When you arrive by train, you can do a canalboat tour close from Central Station: www.lovers.nl

Also the red light district is close to Central station, especially nice if you're there in the evening.

No, that's what the red light district is for, which has nothing to do with red lights ;-)
