Will be going to Madrid in October and need help/advice about a well-located hotel with family room. My family consists of myself, my wife and our 2 kids aged 13 + 6.

We are very fond of Hotel Europa which is right on the Puerta del Sol. It is small but very charming and has been totally renovated and modernized. They have quad rooms which might meet your purpose. You can see more at their website: http://www.hoteleuropa.net/
