Hi, myself and four others are flying into athens on 30th September this year and flying out of athens on 7th October, we were wanting to go to mykonos and santorini but were wondering if anyone had ideas of an itinerary for us with things to do and how long to stay in each place??

Do you plan to spend any time in Athens other than just to transit to the islands? If so, how many days? 7 days minus travel time is not a lot of time for 2 islands and Athens. You might want to stick to one island if you plan to spend any time at all in Athens. Will you fly to the islands or use the ferry system? The ferries take at least half a day to reach these islands. Some ferries take longer.

Have you chosen these two islands because of their international party/nightlife reputations? In case you didn't know, there's not really much else to do on Mykonos but swim, sunbathe, shop and party at night. If you're not planning to spend any time in Athens and if you're wanting to experience something less touristy and more authentically Greek I suggest you reconsider your choices and pick one or the other of them plus another island with more to offer that are easy to reach by short ferry hops. Near to Mykonos are Tinos and Syros. Near Santorini are Naxos and Paros.
