I was in Tonga in June-July this year and I decided: that's my place! Therefore I'll be back in February for a long stay this time. Anybody whishing to join me?

I would! My plan is to discover the area - mainly as a sailing destination. When do you plan to arrive? Which area you come from?

We are neighbours, I am from Bucharest. Tonga IS a sailing destination, mainly the northern group of islands named Vava'u. I will arrive on 22 Jan or 5 Feb, deppending on the flight confirmation. Well, I'm going to the Pacific soon to visit my sister there, and would like to know several places. But I'm not sure about the period of next year I'm going... Also the same question: do you know about flights? this is the oportunity to make a RTW flight !

Well, the less long and cheapest flight is with Luftansa, LH4650, from Frankfurt (1:30 pm) to Los Angeles and then with Air New Zealand, NZ057, to Tongatapu (main island of Tonga), with a stop at Apia, West Samoa. Total travel time 27:55 hours. There are flights also from Paris and London to Los Angeles. The important thing is to arrive at Los Angeles in time for the 7:15 pm flight to Tongatapu. Arrival time: 5:25 am, two days later (not to forget you will loose a day because of the date line). Another thing, flights Los Angeles – Tongatapu, the two ways, only on Mondays.

Nomada, the stop in Apia will be for 1:30 hours and you will have to wait in the transit room... sorry :) Anyway, I got the permission to get out to smoke a cigarette, it was an exception...
