| Budapest | Hotel Advice Budapest Posted: Fri July 11, 2008 06:29 PM UTC
Hi all,
I hope you can help. I am taking my girlfriend to Budapest for 1 week in September and I need some advice on hotels. We are both in our early 20's so we are looking for a hotel close to bars/nightlife and local attractions. I am looking into a few hotels: Hotel Kalvin Novotel Budapest Centrum Hotel Ambra Would you recommend any of these? Any other hotel advice that you can give would be appreciated, I would like to spend max €100 per night. Thanks in advance. AM |

hi
i just came back from Budapest. I stayed 5 nights in Mercure Korona on Kelvin square. Great location - in front of the national museum - 5 minutes walking from Vaci Utca and the central market hall and 10 minutes from the Danube. You have a metro line below the hotel. If you want a good restaurant area it is 5 minutes from the hotel on Raday street. I hope i helped you - feel free to contact me. Ophir

We've just returned from Budapest and stayed at the Cotton House, which is within your budget. It was handy for everything, buses, tourist day-trippers and nightlife. Although an older hotel, it has a lot of character and a fantastic cellar restaurant. Look it up!!!

Hi
I have found a very cheap hotel in the city centre. It's an excellent hotel. Check out its video : http://uk.video.yahoo.com/watch/3049615/8703000 Regards

Hello.
Being local person I haven't stay in these hotels, but: they ara all in good location, whichever you choose. Then only one which I would not recommend is Easy hotel. Nothing wrong with it, nice location, low prices, but this is for those who want to travel on a very low budget, and not for a romantic stay. Very small rooms, no furniture, (except bed of course), it is like a clean box. see http://www.easyhotel.com/hotels/gb/hotel_search_budapest.htm Cotton house seems to be a nice place, Novotel and Amra are also nice but modern. Any of them would be good choice except Easy.

For cheaper accomodation try this one
http://roomopera.webs.com/index.htm It is not far from Opera House on Andrássy avenue, just in walking distance from a lot of sightseeings of Pest side. Very good location for decent price.

I was visiting Budapest the past month. I can suggest you Art'otel. It is in the Riverfront, Budaside, it is small, boutique, free internet (in thwe bussiness ctr, comfortable, 2 blocks from the Chain Bridge, 1 block from Bethanny Ter metro station. I think It was a great deal for me.
