| Luxor | What hotel should i pick ?????????????????????????? Posted: Fri July 11, 2008 06:11 PM UTC
Help wanted please..... i cannot decide what hotel to pick for our holiday in October, after doing a cruise. Me and my wife and 2 children aged 12 & 16 are thinking of stopping in The Pyramisa Isis /Nile Palace Luxor or Sonesta St. George Hotel i know we will have to stop in 2 rooms unless we pick the isis but would be grateful of any feedback.

The Sonesta St. George would normally be my pick, but they are currently doing some construction in the hotel. You'd need to be sure that it's done, or you could be in for a very noisy stay...I've heard that they have even sent reserved guests to other hotels at certain points in the work. If you asked now about whether the work will be done by October, the answer will certainly be "yes", but it seems to be a universal law that contruction work is always behind schedule. Either of the other 2 would be fine. They're all in a busy area with lots of shops, restaurants, etc.

Hi,
We stayed twice at the Nile Palace (former Meridien)and once at the Isis. Nile Palace is a far better choice, better food, nicer staff, etc., etc. Isis is ok (not worth at all the *****), full of staff litterally begging for "bakshish", you can't have a moment without being harrassed by some staffmember (toothless or otherwise). The food is of far less quality and far less choise than the Nile Palace. Hope this helps
