My cruise ship will stop at Sydney on Sept. 2 and will be there from 8 am to 5 pm. I intend to rent a car. How best should I spend the time? Going up the coast toward Ingonish or driving toward Baddeck?.

Hi
I am originally from Cape Breton . Sept is a lovely time to vist . For one day you'll have to choose. Ingonish is a long way for the time you have . I would suggest rentinga car and heading to Baddeck . Which is the start of the Cabot Trail . It is beautiful. It is right on the Bras d'or lake (which is really an inland sea) This was always our favorite Sunday drive , growing up. There are some nice restaurants there and the Alexander Bell Museum as well. The other option would be going to Louisburg. This is a 17 century town/fortress that has been restored. It is very interesting and the whole area makes for a very nice trip.
