Can anyone tell me if there is secure lockers in La Spezia train station for suitcases? thanks

The Trenitalia website reports that the is a Left Luggage service at La Spezia Centrale. Generally in Italy, this means a manned office where the attendants take your luggage sort of like the bellman at a hotel and store it in their storage room. Note that there is always a fee for this service (at the larger stations, it's 3.80 euro for the first 5 hours and less than a euro per hour after that), and that your lugagge may be subject to a security search, since Italy has had bad experiences with bombings at train stations in the deep dark past.

Otherwise, it is a service that is used all the time by all sorts of people, and unless you are packing your 24 carat jewelry in your luggage, it will be fine...(actually, it will probably be fine anyway)...
