Cape Verde Travel Forum

Hi, me & my friends are a group of well travelled women in our mid 20's & we are considering Cape Verde as our next destination. The main ingredients needed for our holidays are:
-hot weather
-beautiful beaches
-nice accommodation
-places to see & explore
-active nightlife (bars, clubs, disco's) we don't expect 'Ibiza' but we are not have a drink at the hotel bar and be in bed by midnight people!

I like what I have seen so far from different website but would like advise from locals or people who have travelled to the island themselves to confirm if the above criteria's will be met.

cape verde have most of what you mention.
it´s not a place of many sights, but the beaches are absolutely fantastic and the nightlife is ok if a little calm.
you find some nice little music bars there.
the weather is always warm there, but expect a bit of a breeze.

We were off to Cape Verde last Christmas but cancelled because I read so many reviews about it being so windy you were always covered in orange sand. To get an idea of it, surfers mecca seems to sum it up

Hi, I have been to Sal, Cape Verde twice. The beaches are beautiful and we are buying a villa there as we fell in love with its charm. I suggest you wait a couple of years for your girly holiday as the nightlife is quite quiet.

it´s windy but it´s not a big problem at all.
i spend 6 weeks there and i was never coverd in sand at any point.
just be prepared for a good atlantic breeze.
