harold's mansion, bethels, C & L suites inn, plaza maria luiza, almar hotel,,

i want something near the city proper, affordable, nice view, clean and safe..

All of them are within the city proper. Bethel is along the boulevard but not all rooms have the view of the bay. A few distance away is Plaza Maria Luisa which faces the city park. Can't recall the exact location of the others.

hello there. i'm not sure how long you'll stay in Dumaguete. I stayed there for a day last year and stayed at Plaza Ma. Luisa. When i explored half the city by foot, later realized should have stayed at Bethel's.

C&L is located just a few blocks from Bethel but a little farther from city while Harold's definitely outside the city proper.

we stayed at C&L last year, it's very near the church/the bell tower & plaza (just across the street).

we also went to see bethel's, but we didn't stay there. its 2-3 blocks away from the church but its along the boulevard where all the action is. it's also nearer silliman U.

C&L is definitely cheaper than Bethel's, but location wise Bethel is better.

C&L has clean, but quite small rooms, accommodating & friendly staff. when we visited Bethel to inquire of their rooms, the staff were not very friendly (probably they already know we're not staying there anyway)

Hi Clarice, we stayed at Plaza Maria Luisa, which is on the opposite side of the park from C&L. Prior to the trip, we were thinking of staying at Bethel, but feedbacks I got were discouraging particularly on the hotel's ambiance. They say the interior looks more like a hospital than a hotel.

i didn't enjoy my stay at Plaza Ma Luisa :-(

Bethels is the better (imo). Have stayed at Plaza Maria (nice room, not so good for eating), Almar (again nice, but pricey for what you get).
If staying at the Bethel, ask for a room on the 5th floor. There is a balcony that looks out over the Boulevard. Very safe and clean.

P.S. bethel has a no smoking/no liquor policy, which may bother you if you're a smoker. Plenty of nearby bars/restaurants for a relaxing drink...

I would choose Harold's Mansion. All the major destinations are just minutes away and its near to all the important places in Dumaguete City. I stayed there before and its nice and clean. Have fun.

they say that maria luisa is nice. why you did not enjoy your stay at maria luisa can you make it specific pls, it will be helpful if you do. tnx..
there's only 2 names on my mind harold's mansion and maria luisa but i tend to choose maria luisa because it just within the city.. pls help.. i will be at dumaguete this saturday aug. 2, 2008..]
