We are docking in Livorno and have been to all the tourist places (florence Pisa Lucca cinque Terra San Gimmy). We have never been to Livorno itself. Is it worth seeing??

It's a pleasant enough city but not so special I would spend any time hanging around there, given how much there is within a daytrip's distance.
How about a quick hop over to Elba?

You do not mention Siena. If you have not been there then I suggest you spend the day visiting. Lovely place. Or maybe Volterra, or Monteriggione: both have been mentioned by VT-ers before as lovely places to visit from the Pisa area.

Ferries to Elba go from Piombino: fast ferries take around 35 minutes, slower ones around an hour.

I spent a day in Livorno on my cruise, and while everyone else got on buses for Pisa and Florence, I stayed in Livorno and explored. I notice a lot of people tend to write it off as uninteresting, but it is actually quite nice, and the best thing is that there aren't coachloads of tourists clogging the streets.

The centre of the city is built around canals, and there's even a part of the city called the venetian quarter as it was modelled on Venice. There's an old fortress surrounded by canals which is now a park...and another smaller fortress down by the harbour. Not exactly full of must-see attractions, but a nice city to walk around.

A short walk to the south of the historical centre brings you to the seafront and the Terrazza Mascagni promenade. Beyond this are lots of beach clubs and restaurants.

There's enough to fill a day.
