Re: Quality Central Hotel with Pool? Posted: Thu July 10, 2008 09:29 PM UTC
that hotel seems to be nice, but as a local i must warn you that it's far from everything. you cant get anywhere interesting from there on foot (in my opinion, at least). the are is safe and quite modern, though.
i think hotel las arenas is our best hotel (5*)
http://www.valencialasarenashotel.com/
it's in front of the sea, and has an outdoor swimming pool and spa area.
the thing with valencia is that you have to choose: either the beach or the city center. if you want to go to the city center from the beach you can either take the tram (aprox 25 mins(, the metro (15 mins plus a walk), the bus (ages) or a taxi (15 mins). the bus is the slowest and most annoying, followed by the tram, though the tram stop is closer to the beach in general.
here's a listing of hotels with swimming pool in valencia
http://espana.hotels.com/hotel-espana/hotel-valencia/piscina-hotel-valencia/
that page is in spanish but i think each hotel will have an english site.
of all the hotels listed there Hospes Palau De La Mar and The Westin Valencia are the closest to the city center (Hosped Palau is a bit cloer then The Westin). All the rest do not have a tourist location as they're far from most of the highlights
i hope this helps!
