Check out Sunshine City Prince Hotel in Ikebukuro, the hotel is adjacent to a four stories shopping complex.

excel hotel in shibuya is 4 star and pretty good value and is adjacent to shibuya train station. shibuya is major shopping destination in tokyo, though i guess catering slightly more toward the funky 20-somethings! best western hotel in shinjuku is a good spot close to the action and shopping and includes free buffet breakie every morning (at least it did last time i checked!), its about a 5-10 min walk to station depending on whether you like a brisk canter or a leisurely stroll! hope that is of some help !

I have stayed at the Tokyo Prince Hotel, by Tokyo Tower for years now. It is a little older, but the rooms are decent sized but sign up on the Internet for the Prince Club International and get a discount and free breakfast. It is a great location and next to Zojoji Temple and within walking distance to Roppongi. Hammamatsu Cho station is close as is several other subway stops. Great value for the money.
