Singapore is not very cheap when it comes to food. But the food is good.

We can reccommend quality cran at Newton Circus and East Coast Parkway has good food to.

The is also great restaurants at Clark Quay and Boat Quay. But be warned, you will get hassled to eat in every restaurant that you walk by.

It really depends on how u want to get your crab done. The popular way is chilli or black pepper or butter crab. If you are a tourist and staying in downtown area ie Marina or Orchard, the most convenient and credibly delicious crabs can be found at:

1) Jumbo Seafood (Riverside - Clarkequay)
2)No Signboard Seafood (Esplanade)
3) Seafood Paradie (S'pore Flyer)- more for the butter crab

If you are adventourous and would like to venture beyond, these 2 outlets beat the above hands down in terms of its flavour and different crab treatment:

1) Mellen seafood (Blk 232 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3- take a cab or take an MRT to AMK and change to a 10mins cab ride)- their claypot soup crab is delicious. But be warned, their queue snakes up very quickly. Go before 6pm or after 9pm. Dinner crowd is crazy.

2) Sin Huat Eating Hse (Geylang Lr 35- take a cab. Not far from town) - braised crab bee hoon (vermicilli)in black pepper sauce. Service is slow but quality is excellent!!!!!

I vote for the chili crabs at the Newton Circle, best i've ever tasted. Best value for your money and located in central Singapore. Dining at Clarke Quay is much too expensive and at Boat Quay, too little options. Also obvious is the fact diners flocks Newton :-)
