Are these locations far from Melaka's (Malacca's) town?

I will be staying at Aldy Hotel.

Need help as I am bringing kids wish to visit the Zoo, crocodile farm, butterfly farm, etc. Are they worth going?

I heard that A'famosa isn't great. Pls. advise asap?

All those sites that u hv mentioned are major attractions in Melaka.

Zoo, crocodile farm, butterfly farm are worth visiting with kids but they are well out of town and you may need to take a taxi (with kids) to visit them.

Better hire a taxi for a day and you can visit all those three places in a day, since they are located near each other.

A'famosa is an old historical site but it is near Aldy. Other historical sites are near & in front of Aldy: Melaka Church, Stadthuys, St Paul Church, Portuguese galleon. Visit A'famosa and climb St Paul near A'famosa, to go down at the other side.

I am not sure if you will be driving.
The attractions are just after the Ayer Keroh exit from the Highway less then 5km.
Aldy Hotel is in Malacca town itself about 20+km away.
If you are planning to visit the Zoo and all I would advise to start early.
You should be able to at least visit the ZOO and butterfly thingy by late afternoon (depends how long you stay at each).
During weekends evenings the road back to town can be very congested. It may take you 30mins or more to get back to town from the attractions during these times.

The A-famosa? or the A famosa resort? A famosa is fun if you take a trishaw to get there. Take the children to the ship museum as well. it's fun to just get on the ship.

The resort however is futher away, I personally find it interesting to go on 'the Safari' at the resort - it's like a combination of zoo and crocodile farm and bird park.
