| Prague | In the Winter? Posted: Thu July 10, 2008 03:39 AM UTC
What are the clubs and bars like in late December/ early January? Are they full of people? are they dead? What's it like in Prague on winter nights?

I've been there in January and yep it's still pretty lively. Remember it is a city in its own right even without the tourists!! A pretty good local haunt is Lucerno for live music, details are on my page here.
Enjoy!

You can find clubs open all night. Even at 3pm the heated trams are full of people travelling around (only the metro stops at around midnight). The dance clubs are as full in winter as in summer..and of course New Years is crazy with parties and fireworks going off at every available park, Wencesles and Old Town(dangerously so). Most big clubs have inexpensive cloakrooms to leave your coats.
Prague is always full of people! The last question...I would call it crisp! But the Xmas markets bring people out after dark. Everywhere is well heated, including transport.
