| Singapore | How many days Posted: Thu July 10, 2008 12:48 AM UTC
Looking at a trip combining Singapore with Cambodia for early 2009. What is a good number of days for Singapore? I was thinking 4.

4 is good. It will give you time to check out plenty of stuff.
If you are into zoos, Singapore has one of the best and that is almost a day in itself. Cheers Col & Sue

Yeah, mate, 4 sounds good. Make time to visit Arab Street, Little India and Chinatown (at least 1 day); Orchard Street (if you like shopping); Raffles; Sentosa Island (1 day); Singapore Zoo (1 day) and Jurong Bird Park.

Hi - yes, I agree with the others. Four days should be enough. Definitely visit Chinatown, Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple in Little India, Jurong Bird Park and the Singapore Zoo, Clarke Quay for at least a drink or dinner, take a cruise on the river, shop Orchard Road and Funan The IT Mall (for computer/electronics), go to Sentosa Island for the Fort and Underwater World. We also enjoyed the Asian Civilizations Museum. Oh, and go for a massage! Happy Travels!

Thanks ladies and gents. I would, btw, want to go to the Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park, Botanical Gardens, either the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve or the Sunghei Buloh Nature Park. Each of these taking up several hours. And if I went also to Sentosa on top of the various ethnic areas. Hmm, maybe 4 days isn't quite enough. Maybe 5 or even 6 days would be better. Waiting for additional feedback.

Singapore is small enough that you can do some of those items on the same day. But in saying that we had a week in Singapore last October and had a ball doing quite a bit and still missed out stuff like the bird park and night safari.

Hmmm, I have re-thought my answer! Maybe 5-6 days is better. We had such a good time that we extended our stay to 9 days when we went and we still didn't see everythng we wanted!! Guess it just depends on what you want to do and how much "running" you want to do. We also went during the Great Singapore Sale, so we shopped a lot too. Happy Travels!

4 days is Ok.but if want to venture to places off the normal touristy places such as Pulau Ubin, stay longer.
I would recommend Pulau Ubin, you can take a boat to the island from ter terminal near Changi Village where there is a famous nasi lemak (Malay food) also recommend Bugis if u r looking for more affordable shopping. and also an outdoor shopping experience at a market. singapore also has many national parks.

The way I see it...
Sentosa (1Day) - To get into the island will only cost you SDG$2.oo. But if you want to see the attractions it will cost you more. Be sure to check the counter for the combo of attraction that you want to visit. It will be cheaper then paying individualy. or visit their website. You may want to bring some food and drinks with you as it cost at least 10% on the island. If you still have time you may want to pay the nearby Haw Par Villa a visit. Zoo, Nite safari and Bird Park (1Day) - You may want to ask about the promo that they have when you visit all 3 attractions. Believe you would save some money. As Bird Park is in the west of Mainland Sinagpore you may want to visit this first. In the afternoon you can travel north to visit the Zoo. By the time you're done there you can visit the night safari which is just next to the Zoo. Others (1day?) - I would guess that you have it on your list to visit little Chinatown. You should be able to get stuff for your friends here as many shop sells gifts at 3 for SDG$10 or so. Little India would be a colorful place to visit. Many people visit the nearby Sim Lim Square for electronic stuff and Mustaffa superstore is worth a look as well... If you are going to the Bukit Timah Nature resevre You may want to visit the Old Ford Factory nearby wear the surrender of Japan was signed....
