Of course, Bangalore is one of the big cities of India, but the city is more or less safe for girls. Me too is a girl and visited Bangalore alone, I never came across any difficulty. Logically any type of problem creates for girls only during the night time, not in day time. However, for safety reason always take care while travelling in a new city like Bangalore. Better avoid the deserted areas, where few people are moving. Last in any type of emergency raise alarm and ask the police for help.

What does "safe" mean in your question--kidnapped, raped, killed etc etc that too during DAY TIME??? Please please please never ask such question as this type for its hurts specially to Bangaloreans. Also shows your complete ignorance about Bangalore and in general about India. You are not visiting a dense forest in southAmerica. Please go through any guide book about India and Bangalore which is not only beautiful but is one of the key centres of IT industry.
Tips about places you could visit: Lalbagh a beautiful park, cubbaon park in the middle of the city, commercial street,MG road (for shoppings and restaurants). If you are interested in temples and churches, there are afew very popular/famous ones too. There is an unique restaurant called MTR which you may visit. Bangaloreans will be able to update more on thsi topic. You will surely enjoy your stay in Bangalore.

Well Safety is a issue all over the world isnt it? As far as Bangalore is concerned, its quite a safe city and if possible try to go around with a know local if no choice then just cross your fingers and use some professional services like hotel taxi, etc to rule out any remote chances of dangers.
The city offers a range of places to visit based on what you would like to see... it has huge parks but isnt impressive for a lonely visitors, it has got museums, libraries, pubs, restaurants, malls etc etc Do mail me or anyone of VTers you whereabouts and if u feel safe u cud request our numbers to keep us in loop when u r here. cheers
