Hello!

Please give me some advice:

me and my friend are going to be in Sardegna between the 9th and 16th Sept. We were originally thinking of hiking with our bags on our backs and sleeping wherever we happen to arrive, but .. I just weighed the bag, with all the camping stuff in it, and it ain't for me :). Would you know of a cheap "base" that we could find ANYWHERE on the Eastern Side of Sardegna, where we can take beautiful coastal walks from? Ideally it'd be a place, from which trails go in different directions - a place, which allows much hiking and also easy ways to return back to the camp base and which also offers opportunities for enjoying the sea (swimming,snorkeling). The place itself can be just about anything: a simple campsite bungalow or even just a spot for raising our tent is fine, as long as we can leave our stuff there and find it upon return. We will have sleeping bags and mats to sleep on. Do you have any ideas?

Hi, i suggest you the Cala Gonone camping (www.campingcalagonone.it, with an english section). I've been there sometimes in a chalet and think it's a beautiful place with many beaches nearby (in this case, don't miss visit the WONDERFUL Cala Luna beach!) and many naturalistic and panoramic roads (biking and walking).
In alternative, i give you 2 other links for campings directly on the beach in the east coast:

www.campingcalaginepro.com (in Orosei, about 30 km from Nuoro, this camping offers very cheap solutions for an accomodation in september. Unfortunely only in italian!)

www.portososalinos.it (this camping also in Orosei, a little bit expensive respect others, but with an english section and a large offer of sport activities, as kite surfing, canyoning, diving, free climbing, etc.)

I've been there once some time ago, i sleeped and eated very well! They offer accomodations in a 3 stars hotel at reasonable prices, but you can also decide to rent a placement for your tent only, or have breakfast and half board. Location is great and I remember the personel is kind and helpful.
I really wish you organize your trip in the better way! Enjoy Sardinia!
