I am trying to find a hotel with free WiFi - in central Paris.
We don't need a posh hotel - but we need somewhere with a reliable internet connection... (and where WiFi doesn't cost 20 euros / hour, as we'll need to be online quite a bit)

Any suggestions...?

Hi Mette, dont know of one with free wifi in Paris but my last trip to Paris I got a room in twin bed hostel and ended up having it to myself for 3 nights for only 28 euro with breakfast - nice hostel, close to Notre Dame and transport, think it was 42 euro for 2.

but wifi was, and elsewhere around France too, with buying on the internet (when you try to go online on your laptop a company automatically flashed up to take advantage of their service) whatever amount for an hour or whatever - was cheapest to buy a 3 hour card or pin number for 10 euro.

When i was driving outside Paris I stayed in a hotel chain called B & B as they had wifi included in their room rates which were about 39 euro for a nice classier room than similar idea of Formulae1.

The Hotel des Mines right next to Jardin du Luxembourg in the RER B line has free Wi-Fi. You can walk down to the Latin Quarter and St-Germain and Notre Dame etc. It is definitely one of the best value for money that I have found in Paris.

Thanks guys, I'll check these out! Good point about there being WiFi available from other sources too, that might reassure my travel partner a bit! (He's the one that REALLY needs a stable internet connection (for work), so he's pretty concerned about the WiFi - me, I'm not THAT desperate to get on VT while away, honestly ;o)

Just my opinion, but this is very good advice. I went to their web site and for the money and location this looks like a very good deal for a well-located Paris hotel room. Excellent recommendation. Thanks.

When I was in Paris last year i was in Hotel La Patio Brancion and they got free wireless internets, and, as said, there's free internet in McDonalds (Last year i sat there for like 2 hours.... )
