I don't know of any restaurants that have their own exclusive accordionist, but it is not uncommon anywhere in Italy to have roving musicians who go from restaurant to restaurant, play for a little while, pass the hat around and then move on. I know that some of the restaurants in Piazza San Marco have musicians (piano etc) sometimes, but these are very expensive. You can pay 7 or 8 euro just for a cup of coffee. there's nothing to stop you however, standing in close proximity in the square and just enjoying the music anyway. Have a great trip!

I'm an idiot, I mistook Venice for Vienna. What a dolt! However, in Vienna, you will usually find a zither player in the Griechenbeisel in Fleishmkt near Stephansdom.
The one I saw was wonderful and made what is already a brilliant restaurant full of atmoshphere, even more so. Bookings are a must as they get very busy. You can book through their website. See my tip on my Austria page if you want to know a little more.

HI!
Its not soo easy as they not always have music but sporadic. And you didn't mention, which date you will come to vienna .... Call them or see through the pages http://www.fuhrgassl-huber.at/ http://www.wienerheuriger.at/eng/bs2/bs.html http://www.austria-hotels.at/en/passauerhof/index.html Or try to visit one of them and take a walk around, there are other "Heurige" (thats how the restarants are called) around which are less touristic ... maybe you hear music somewhere ;) Another idea: they have music-cruises ... http://www.ddsg-blue-danube.at/en_index.asp

Hi We went to the grinzing restaurants one night, just took the metro and connecting bus, certainly was music and dancing between the tables. Photos on my restaurant tips.
You will love it. You can also go to a Tourist Info Centre and book an evening tour. Good Luck, Mike
