It is very easy. Take the Red Line Metro which says 'destination Shady Grove' and the stop to get off is Woodley Park/Zoo.

Take the metro. The taxi zone system is gone as of June 1, this year. It is all metered by time and distance now.

It is a 10-20 minute up hill (both ways) walk from the Metro station to the Zoo. I wished that I had spent an extra $20 and taken a taxi.

The Zoo is in the middle of a really big hill. Go to the next stop on the line and walk downhill. When you leave, continue downhill to the Zoo merot station
