What area of Italy would you compare this to?Is two weeks far too long to spend in this area. I would really appreciate an overview of the area in general-Thanks-Gene

I would call it one step up from Livorno on the other side of the country. There is a very interesting folklore museum, nice beaches but not a lot to do. Definitely a beach town in the summer. If I had the choice I would spend one week in Pescara and the surrounding area(s); spend the second week in another location. If you have family in Pescara that is a different story.
