barbados restaurants - horse races

We are travelling to the Barbados in early December for 1 week. Does anybody know whether the race track will be running at that time. Also can you suggest some good sea food restaurants and locals type restaurants in the area

Restaurants near Bridgetown - Brown Sugar has a Bajan buffet. IMO it's just as good and cheaper for lunch. The Edgewater Inn also has a Sunday Brunch Bajan buffet. I've eatten at both and both were good. The Edgewater also has regular seafood.

Other seafood restaurants are
FISH POT Casual 439-2604
MEWS (THE) Elegant French, local seafood 432-1122
PISCES Elegant, International 435-6564
RUSTY PELICAN Casual Caribbean,Grill, 436-7778
SHAK SHAK (THE) Elegant ,Continental 435-1234

I haven't eaten at these restaurants.

http://www.barbados.org/horse_racing.htm says racing is year round, but we were there in December and it was not going on at that time - probably because it was Independance Day.

http://www.barbadosturfclub.com/racingdates.htm which is the Turf Club website says that on
December 6th, 2003 they will be running the Diamond International Youth Challenge Stakes and Trophy/ Fan Appreciation Day/Charity Raceday

The race course is close to Bridgetown, don't know if it is open in Dec though
We visited in Feb of this year & a great place to eat was The Fisherman's Pub near glitter bay
