Hi my freinds and I are coming to alghero this week, we were just wondering what the best beaches to go to in the area are? Are there hidden beaches that we can explore and hows best to get to them. We'd prefer to go to quieter beaches.

Hi Alison, As i was only there for a day i can't recommend a particular beach but Neptune Caves are a must. Take a look at this link & see what you think:

Hi Alison,
I went to a beach that's well within walking distance of the town itself (15 min), just go past the port and carry on, and that one was fine. With transport to find something more idyllic you could go up towards the north to the Stintino area.

Great beaches all along the Via Lido (Via Garibaldi takes you there from the Centro Storico)but they will be busy right now (but not the worst either).
Also worth a bus trip to the beah at Fertilia, best one is just before the bridge which is the Alghero city limit opposite the camp site.
