| Sardegna | Accomondation in Sardegna Posted: Sun July 6, 2008 05:54 PM UTC
Hi!
Me and my wife are planning a weeks trip to Sardegna end-of August 08! We would like to relax at the beach, do some diving and do some daily trips with a rental car to different locations. Any recommendation where to go on Sardegna? For accomondation, we would like to stay in a small "Finca", appartment or even a very small and private hotel. Thx in advance for your replies Carsten |

I have only just seen your posting but having just got back from Sardegna I thought I would let you know that trying to get any accommodation in Italy in August is virtually impossible as it is the Italian holidays. If you want a quiet spot you won't find one in August I'm afraid but one of the quietest ones is Isola Rossa about an hour from Alghero by car. It has a dive centre and ski jets and other water sports as well as a few bars and hotels. It has a good selection of apartments too.

Hi, I stayed in a small hotel at the beginning of June. Pls check my Villasimius home page (south Sardegna, I've put a tip about a very nice residence on a amazing beach. Yes, August in Italy is the busiest vacation season but starting from Aug. 20 will be much better. Anyway, southern sardegna is never so crowded as Northern Sardegna.

I personally love very very much the Ogliastra region, est Sardinia: uncontaminated nature and a faboulous mix of mountain and beaches, perfect to discover one of most enchanting territory of the island. It would be better if you have a car to visit it, because it's the easier way to move. Additionally you could find many different accomodations, small hotels but also 'fincas' (here called Agriturismo) and bed and breakfast, of course; i think you could have no particulary difficult find accomodations here the end of august, especially in the interior. I suggest you visit this site:
'www.ogliastraontheweb.it', (unfortunately has only an italian section, but lots of useful web addresses ) and the site of this nice, clean and not expensive hotel on the beach: 'www.hotelnicoletta.info' (has an english section). Wish you a wonderful holiday! Gilda
