There are two main Muay Thai venues in Bangkok; Ratchadamnoen Stadium and Lumpini Stadium. They are both good it just depends on what the fight schedule is like on any particular night. IIRC the venues hold programmes on alternate nights so you can see the action on any night.

With regard to Christmas, the bigger hotels hold gala dinners but as Christians are a small minority in devoutley Buddhist nation Christmas is not a big deal.

"Christmas in Bangkok and fighting"

One of the great things about living in Bangkok is that I miss out on all the fighting! ;-)

If you spend much time at the shopping malls, you would think that the Thais celebrate Christmas like in the West, with all the lights, decorations and "holiday" sales. Actually, I guess that with the crass commercialism, they actually do!

As far as any real celebrations, there are really none, except for many hotel's "Compulsory Gala Dinner"; once again, a commercial exploitation!

There are some Christian/Catholic churches around, if you desire to partake of their Christmas services.

Christmas in a normal working day in Thailand. Middle class Thais are slowly adopting the "Christmas gift" part of Christmas for the kids, but we have no belief in Christianity.

For x'mas, I recommend you don't miss to sightseeing the shop decoration, around MBK, Central World. It's very nice.
