I want yo go to Brazil within the next 10 days to see a friend, do I need a airline ticket to get my visa, or can I go my visa first. Thank you.

Any answer to any visa question depends on the nationality which you decided not to tell us.
Ten days is a very short time to get a visa, by the way.
