| Athens | Locking luggage in Athens? Posted: Sun July 6, 2008 03:16 PM UTC
Hi together,
my girlfriend and me will arrive in Athens airport in the morning. We will stroll through the city during the day and take a ferry to Crete at 8pm. Where can we lock our luggage in Athens during the day, so that we don't have to carry it around? Is there any convenient place? For example, can one lock luggage at the airport, at Piräus metro station or at Larissa train station? Thanks for any help in advance, much appreciated! Cheers, Phil |

Hi there. Yep there are left luggage lockers at Pireaus metro station (I think they were 3 euros a day last year). Also there is a left luggage store at the main cafe on the dock which is perfectly safe too. Enjoy Athens and Crete too. Cheers, John.

If you want to stroll around the center of Athens you dont have to go to Pireas and then return. From the airport you can take the metro to Monastiraki, leave your luggage there at the lockers of the station and walk around Plaka, Acropolis etc In that case you will have plenty of time even to walk up at the Acropolis or just stroll around Monastiraki market, Plaka district etc They're all together in walkable distance. Of course, now it's too hot but it's a pity to loose the basic spots there.
Then you can take your things again and by subway head to Pireus. have fun! konstantinos
