My family are planning a holiday in salou this summer - hopefully! My youngest son wants to visit the barcelona stadium. We would like a central hotel which offers such day trips. Could anyone advise me on a good hotel?

I stayed at hotel california garden. walking distance both to city "center" and the beach. They arrange day trips to barcelona, torres vineyard, andorra and montserrat (beatiful place). Hope youŽll have a great trip!

I havent stayed at california garden hotel but is a very good hotel (stayed at sister hotel). Have been to Salou many times and 2nd time this year in sept.Trips to Barcelona are not a problem,if your hotel doesnt run a trip i believe they can advise you of someone who can. I did it myself via train, i wouldnt do that again, far easier via coach. You can spend hours at barcelona stadium as there is a lot to see.

Calafornia Gardens is a decent hotel, most of the tour reps in Salou could fix you up with a tour although I'd opt for Plana, the local bus company. Information stands are scattered throughout Salou, or ask at the kiosk on the front near the Jaime 1st statue.

It isn't too hard to diy by train as Barcelona has a good metro system.

Don't forget to visit Tarragona and / or Reus for good architecture.

Try the Golden Avenida apartHotel, it's run by Thomson, so I'm not sure if you can book this separately. however, don't worry as you can book these types of trips with PLANA, the local bus service. Just ask a tourist office.
