Hola a todos!
We will arrive in Santander by ferry on 28th July which we understand is a bank holiday. What are bank holidays like in Spain? Will we be able to buy basic provisions like milk? We are renting a casa in Viveda to the west of Santander. Un saludo mimi_Mc |

I just checked and 28th July is bank holiday in Cantabria.
Being high season you might be able to find some small shop open in the morning near the ferry terminal in Santander to buy bread and milk, but I guess supermarkets and shops will be closed. To be on the safe side, better bring essentials with you.

In Santander the Saint Patron Santiago ( 25th of July) and during one week there are "Fiestas"
The 28th is the last day and you have the last bullfight of the Santander season ( see : http://www.toros-santander.es/toros-santander/programa/ ) , in addition you may have music in some of the squares in Santander and other activities On the 28th , they are celebrating The Institutions day in all Cantabria , so most of the big stores and shops will be closed . As it is Summer time probably you will find some small local shop in Viveda where you may get the basic things Have a good Hollidays!!!!! Buenas vacaciones !!!!!!
