Is there any coffee shops or is that type of thing only in Amsterdam?

Try this, in the center of town:
Coffeeshop Meram Rolderstraat 12A Assen, 9401AS 'That type of thing' is certainly not confined to Amsterdam, though some towns on the German border have restricted business to Dutch citizens due to foreigners smashing the place up.

In any case, when you get there just ask someone if you don't see any. I have never been to a Dutch town of the size of Assen without one.
