Paris Travel in November/ Daily Commute
Posted: Sat July 5, 2008 09:19 PM UTC
I have been to Paris in the past, but my friends have invited me to stay with them in a condo for a week. It would be the week of November 9-15, in the vicinity of EuroDisney. Two questions, what is the weather like in November? and second, would it be too much of a hassle traveling from the EuroDisney area into Paris everyday (and from the airport?) We would not be spending any time at EuroDisney. Merci!

Hi. If you're from Texas, you will find Paris in November a bit cool and often rainy. It's not a torrential downpour (usually) so it doesn't interfere with sightseeing; just take an umbrella and wear solid shoes. If you're lucky, it will be a dry November. Many trees will still have color although many will have lost their leaves. Fallen leaves in the rain can be slippery so again, choose sturdy shoes. The nice thing is that everything is open and it isn't quite as touristy as in summer. There will be special exhibits in museums and if you are late in the month, Christmas decorations will be going up. We packed layers (from southern California) and were fine. We both have raincoats with zip-in linings and those were very useful although a rain coat with a blazer underneath would work too. It can be very windy and if it's cold the same day, a nice wool scarf around your neck is a big help. You can get cheap ones from a street vendor (or get a nice one to take home as a souvenir).

Despite occasional rain, we loved the beautiful clouds in the sky. It makes for great photos! The cool weather is also good for sightseeing. It does get dark early so you won't have the daylight hours you would have in the Spring. However, Paris is the "City of Light" so you can enjoy the lights without having to stay up so very late. There's a bright side to everything. 8^)

BTW, one year we had rain predicted for every day we were going to be in Paris and we actually had a couple gorgeous days and the rest of the time, there were just showers that were sporadic and brief. It's pretty unpredictable. LOL

It's no hassle traveling from the EuroDisney area into Paris but it's more expensive than it would be if you stayed in the center of town. I'm pretty sure the EuroDisney RER is in Zone 5 and most tourist things are in zones 1 and occasionally zone 2. Other than the cost, it's not a problem. There is an RER from Chessy-Marne la Vallee directly into central Paris.
