Hi I am travelling to Paris on New Years Day. I was wondering if anybody can help, is there anywhere open on New Years Day eg river boats on the seine? Is the metro also running.

Metro is of course running, buses and trains etc. run Sunday service on public holidays. I don't know about the bateaux mouches but I would guess they are running also from this website http://www.vedettesdupontneuf.com/departs.htm, or you could e-mail and ask them.
