Vancouver Flying from Vancouver to Spain

Flying from Vancouver to Spain (Marbella):

Can anyone recommend a reasonable (cheap) way of doing this?

I have been using the usual travel sites and search engines and it seems awfully expensive in getting from our hometown of Vancouver to Spain (Marbella). Flying out of Seattle might be an option if it saves money?

Any advice or links would be much appreciated!

If you look at Seattle, do factor in the gas and inconvenience - and that fare from Vancouver may be looking better.

I would fly to Madrid though (airport code MAD), and take a train south.

I would do from Vancouver to Europe and then to Malaga, plus I would avoid Madrid's ad/or Barcellona airport for a connection

or [if you have flexible date]

take a look air transat as it has Montreal (or Toronto) to Malaga NON STOP flight and... Air Transat uses to be cheap.. :-)

That is pretty good - if you're sure you will not have any changes to make later, awesome price. According to wikipedia, it is a very small airline with less than 20 planes, so make sure you won't need to change plans as options may be limited.

Otherwise, I checked, because I did not belive it went straight to Malaga non-stop - it sure does! But does not fly out of the us.

there is a weekly fligh (that way I wrote "[if you have flexible date]")]
Depart from Montreal(YUL) on thursday evenig (TS250) and back from Malaga (AGP) friday afternoon (TS251)

??? From Toronto is available to/from Madrid only ???

many European airlines have Malaga in their route, but I think that from Vancouver it will be cheaper going to Montreal first and then to Malaga..

From US it's better looking about special fares european airlines could make, going to Malaga via Munich/Rome/Paris could be cheaper then stopping at Munich/Rome/Paris... but I have doubts there are these bargains in this season. [Nowdays it's high season going to south-europe]

If you haven't flown through the US recently you will be in for a shock. Security measures slow down everything, flight schedules are a mess, and your bags will be opened (by force) and searched. I don't find it worth it to save a couple of hundred bucks for the hastle. I avoid England, and the US equally as connectors. You are just increasing the % chance that things will get screwed up.
